The purpose of the National Speech and Debate Tournament is to provide student members with the opportunity to strive for excellence as speakers and debaters while utilizing and enhancing essential critical thinking, research, interpretation, and rhetorical skills. The contest strives to promote the five core tenets of the Honor Code: Leadership, Humility, Service, Integrity, and Respect.
